Vga Driver Intel 82845g
I know that i cannot get a driver for it from intel since, they stopped making drivers for this chip after win xp. But it was suggested in other threads that i try to install the windows xp driver in compatibility mode for xp. I did that and it installs.
However, then I am prompted with a message to restart my pc for the changes to take effect. When, I restart my pc windows 7 switches back to the Standard VGA driver.
Is there a ways for me to keep the intel driver and not automatically revert to the VGA driver?? That is an old graphics chipset and Intel has orphaned it, so I am sorry to tell you that it will not be supported. It might be possible to use the 32-bit version of Windows 7 and you can use the XP drivers in compatibility mode. You might want to consider a new machine as the one you have is rather old.
